Family Birthday Party

There are 6 of us that have a birthday in July, so we combine these into one day. That was today. I started out the day with a pic of my new kitten hiding under a bush. I didn't obtain this kitten by choice. He came out of the woods one day a few weeks back while I was on a walk. He followed me home. This was the day after I let my husband know that we would have no more animals after the ones we have passed on. We named him Raphael. He doesn't have a tail. It's so cute when he wags that little nub. Here is a beautiful spider web that mom spotted out the window.

The minute my husband, Wayne, got to the house, he had to work on my stepdad's truck. His name is Revis and he's one of the six with a birthday.

Here he is looking like Johnny Bench checking out the temperature on the fish fryer.

Here's Raphael again playing around the plants. He never gets tired.

Revis is shaking the fish in the meal. Getting ready to fry.

Putting fish in the fryer.

Isn't this a neat contraption?

Mmmm! Don't that look good? Catfish and bream.

Here is Jazen, my grandson, with his dad's mom, Renee. He's five this month.See him cutting his eyes up at me?
Jazen again, with Wayne.

Mom wouldn't let me get her face in the pictures. but here she is helping with the fish.

Besides the fish, we had apple pie filling baked beans, french fries, spaghetti salad, cole slaw, tomato-onion hushpuppies. there was more, but people were hungry and weren't giving me time to photograph the food.

A kitchen scene. Mom's kitchen. OOps! Sorry mom, I got a full body shot.
Jazen got to open his gifts first. He got legos, a skateboard set, clothes, a DVD, and a towmater lego set.

I got mom a vintage book and a room diffuser set.

I gave Revis a basket of snacks. This little one was eyeing that basket real close.

Revis snatched that basket up fast. Can't wait for dinner to settle, so he can snack.

Renee came bearing gifts also.

She gave mom a statue of the sacred heart Jesus. This thing is super heavy! Mom can't lift it, so I'll have to place it for her.

Jazen contently playing with his skateboard set. That lasted about 5 minutes.

Love that shirt. I'm not old. I'm olde.
Renee gave these Coleus to Mom also to plant around the statue.

This is what Mom gave me. She made or ordered from etsy. A bird's nest lariat necklace and bracelet. One of those brooch and necklaces in one. You clip the pins on either side of your shirt and the beads hang down like a necklace. And of course, the little pink bowl.

We had a great time and ate too much. I made a chocolate peanut butter dessert instead of a cake this year, because it was just too hot. The gift renee gave me will be online tomorrow. It's an outfit and I love it and can't wait to wear it! Happy birthday Mom, Revis, Jazen, Pam, Derek and me!

Where have I Been?

Have you wondered where I've been? Well, we have been without a home for over 6 months now and are still waiting. All of the plans we had before, have went caput. We have started again about 3 times. The land we were getting, was pulled out from under us. Then we tried to get a land/home package...NO! Other properties and rent to own places...NO! Now we are waiting to move in my husbands' brother's mobile home. At this moment he is still living in it while he finishes the inside of his home. Two weeks have turned into 4 weeks have turned into almost 6 weeks now. We are staying with my mother and stepdad right now and while I'm comfortable, I still yearn for my own four walls. While I've been here, she has pushed me to fill up my two etsy shops. I've been shopping and working 90 to nothing. Let me show you a few items in WildPinkRoses. This is a faux birdhouse cutout. It can hold a dried flower arrangement, pens, whatever you would like. I upcycled this item with a little paint and distressing.

This is another wooden item I upcycled with paint. A primitive little church or house.

A wooden pedestal bowl that has also been painted and distressed. Great for a table display of fruit or to chunk your keys in at the door.

An adorable cherub that has been upcycled with a joint compound and painted ivory. Painstaking process!

I came across this cute little pot while out thrifting with my mom. Heart handles! Come to find out, this is a Cordon Bleu pot. Don't know what it was used for, but I love it.

Sadly, all I could find was this one coaster. But I guess it could be used as a ring dish. How pretty in a shabby chic kitchen or bath or even on your dresser.

This tin fish mold was another find on this same trip. I love the little handle near the tail fin. This is true vintage patina that I love to come across.

This set of paper mache boxes I made myself. Decoupaged from a vintage hymn book, painted and distressed. I tied it all together with a strip of cheesecloth. The black, white and silver is beginning to really appeal to me.

I saw this sitting on the shelf, exactly as you see it. It doesn't go together, but yet it does. What can you use it for? I don't have the faintest, but it's so cute. It can be used in the kitchen somewhere can't it?

Well, this is a sufficient come back, huh? If you look to the left on my blog page, you can find my mini showcase for WildPinkRoses. I would be thrilled if you'd click on over and take a look. Who knows. you may find something for that little space in that nook thing there in the far corner. Yeah! That one!
