Where have I Been?

Have you wondered where I've been? Well, we have been without a home for over 6 months now and are still waiting. All of the plans we had before, have went caput. We have started again about 3 times. The land we were getting, was pulled out from under us. Then we tried to get a land/home package...NO! Other properties and rent to own places...NO! Now we are waiting to move in my husbands' brother's mobile home. At this moment he is still living in it while he finishes the inside of his home. Two weeks have turned into 4 weeks have turned into almost 6 weeks now. We are staying with my mother and stepdad right now and while I'm comfortable, I still yearn for my own four walls. While I've been here, she has pushed me to fill up my two etsy shops. I've been shopping and working 90 to nothing. Let me show you a few items in WildPinkRoses. This is a faux birdhouse cutout. It can hold a dried flower arrangement, pens, whatever you would like. I upcycled this item with a little paint and distressing.

This is another wooden item I upcycled with paint. A primitive little church or house.

A wooden pedestal bowl that has also been painted and distressed. Great for a table display of fruit or to chunk your keys in at the door.

An adorable cherub that has been upcycled with a joint compound and painted ivory. Painstaking process!

I came across this cute little pot while out thrifting with my mom. Heart handles! Come to find out, this is a Cordon Bleu pot. Don't know what it was used for, but I love it.

Sadly, all I could find was this one coaster. But I guess it could be used as a ring dish. How pretty in a shabby chic kitchen or bath or even on your dresser.

This tin fish mold was another find on this same trip. I love the little handle near the tail fin. This is true vintage patina that I love to come across.

This set of paper mache boxes I made myself. Decoupaged from a vintage hymn book, painted and distressed. I tied it all together with a strip of cheesecloth. The black, white and silver is beginning to really appeal to me.

I saw this sitting on the shelf, exactly as you see it. It doesn't go together, but yet it does. What can you use it for? I don't have the faintest, but it's so cute. It can be used in the kitchen somewhere can't it?

Well, this is a sufficient come back, huh? If you look to the left on my blog page, you can find my mini showcase for WildPinkRoses. I would be thrilled if you'd click on over and take a look. Who knows. you may find something for that little space in that nook thing there in the far corner. Yeah! That one!

  1. Sonia, I so enjoyed this post. I love to see family get togethers. Your husband sure is good to fry all that fish. That takes some skill.

I love all of your finds. Maybe that little black fluted dish with the top could be used for butter on your supper table. i especially love the pedestal wooden bowl.

    all the best,
